Artist 2maqruz at work

At Bauer Media Outdoor, we not only give space to brands, but also to creativity in public spaces. That's why we asked artist 2maqruz (Nico) to transform used Out of Home posters into a new work of art. The result is a colorful, cultural and sustainable work that was on display on the streets of Rotterdam. This shows how art and public space can reinforce each other.

Sustainable art from upcycled Out of Home posters

The artwork that 2maqruz made for us is an ode to the Filipino mother. She is a symbol of strength, love and pride. This inspiration is evident in the colors, textures and shapes that carry the artwork.

For this project, the artist received a selection of our used Out of Home posters. In his studio, he turned these materials into a new work of art that focuses on color, texture and upcycling. Reusing existing posters creates art that is not only meaningful, but also conscious and sustainable.

Upcycling in public spaces

With this project, we show that materials that are normally discarded or recycled can become something new and valuable. The upcycled artwork in Rotterdam is an example of how creative reuse can find a place in the streets. It shows that sustainability and art can go hand in hand.
