Koopmans special - Rotterdam Central Station

What smells better than freshly baked apple pie? This idea forms the basis of Koopmans' Out-of-Home campaign in collaboration with WPP's EssenceMediaCom team. Ten OOH locations in Almere, Leeuwarden, Eindhoven and Rotterdam were transformed into Koopmans Apple Pie Mix packaging, complete with a specially developed apple pie scent.

OOH that seduces

Before activation, a recognizable apple pie scent was developed by a specialized fragrance factory. The scent was supposed to tempt passers-by to get back to work with the Koopmans Apple Pie Mix themselves. The combination of image, smell and recognisable Koopman look made the activation striking and immediately recognisable.

Online visibility with influencers

To enhance the sensory experience online, the WPP Media influencer team worked with Bauer Media. Influencers create content that combines the scent of apple pie with nostalgia, recognition, and longing. The online content is entertainment driven and matches the atmosphere of Koopmans Appeltaart.

Warmth, conviviality and nostalgia

According to Koopmans, the scent of apple pie evokes warmth, conviviality and nostalgia. With these tangible Koopmans Apple Pie fragrance objects, the brand wants to inspire passers-by to bake again with the Koopmans Apple Pie mixes during the apple season.
